Beyoncé fans opt for overseas shows to avoid costly concert tickets

Fans of pop superstar Beyoncé are going to great lengths to see her live on her new tour, with some opting to attend shows overseas in order to avoid the high cost of U.S. ticket fees.

According to Rolling Stone staff writer Brittany Spanos, who spoke with CBS News about the trend, the high price of tickets in America is caused by a number of factors, including scalpers and secondary market resellers.

"Ticket prices have been increasing over the years due in part to these resellers who get their hands on tickets and then sell them at inflated prices," Spanos explained.

As a result, many fans are turning to international concerts as a more affordable alternative. Tickets for Beyoncé's shows abroad can be significantly cheaper than those in the United States, even when factoring in travel expenses.

While traveling overseas for a concert may seem extreme, it's not uncommon among die-hard music fans. Many believe that seeing an artist perform live is worth any amount of time or money spent.

For some fans, attending concerts abroad also offers an opportunity for adventure and cultural immersion. Traveling outside one's home country can be an exciting way to experience new sights and sounds while enjoying one's favorite artist.

Despite the challenges posed by pricey ticket fees in America, it seems that nothing can keep true Beyoncé fans from seeing their idol live on stage – even if it means taking their devotion across oceans and continents.
