Sam Burns put up an incredible performance throughout the week at the WGC-Match Play and emerged victorious in a dramatic final against his opponent. The 28-year-old golfer completed an undefeated week to win the tournament, marking his fifth career win and first of 2023 after collecting three trophies last season.

Burns' impressive showing throughout the tournament earned him a well-deserved victory in what was a tough field of competitors. His dominant performances saw him progress through each round without losing a single match, ultimately setting up a final showdown with his opponent.

In the final game, Burns maintained his composure to clinch victory by just one hole over his rival. Speaking after he was declared winner, Burns expressed his delight at winning such a prestigious event.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to have won this year's WGC-Match Play," said Burns. "It was an incredibly tough field out there, but I managed to stay focused and play some really good golf throughout the week."

The win marks another milestone for Sam Burns as he continues to establish himself as one of golf's rising stars. With five career wins under his belt now, including four PGA Tour victories since 2020, it's clear that he has all the attributes needed for sustained success on tour.

Congratulations once again go out to Sam Burns on completing an undefeated week and winning this year's WGC-Match Play in style!
