Two high school students from Franklin and Roosevelt High Schools in Portland were victims in a triple homicide over the weekend. The names of the victims have not been released by the authorities.

The incident happened on Sunday, July 11th, at around 4:30 am at an apartment complex near Southeast 174th Avenue and Powell Boulevard. According to the police, they received multiple calls reporting gunshots. Upon arrival, officers found three individuals dead from gunshot wounds.

The two students were identified as victims later on Monday by both schools' administrations. "Our hearts are broken to hear about this tragic news," said Guadalupe Guerrero, Superintendent for Portland Public Schools.

Both schools are offering counseling services for students and staff members affected by this tragedy. Additionally, both schools will hold virtual town hall meetings with families to provide support and answer questions regarding this unfortunate event.

Portland Police have stated that they do not believe there is an immediate threat to public safety but encourage anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

This triple homicide is just one of several violent incidents that have occurred in the city recently. The community is calling for action from local leaders to address increasing crime rates in neighborhoods across Portland.

As investigation into this case continues, our thoughts go out to all those affected by this senseless act of violence.
