West Fargo's very own powerlifting sensation, Jason Ehlert, is all set to take on the world stage as he gears up for the World Powerlifting Organization's (WPO) 2023 men's semifinal. The competition will be held on April 1st in Lombard, Illinois and will feature some of the most elite athletes from around the globe.

Ehlert has been a dominant force in regional powerlifting competitions throughout North Dakota and has made a name for himself as one of the strongest men in his weight class. However, this upcoming competition marks his first appearance at the international level.

"I'm excited to finally get my chance to compete against some of these guys that I've only ever seen on social media or YouTube," said Ehlert. "It's going to be a challenge, but I've been training hard and feel like I'm ready."

The WPO semifinals are renowned for being one of the toughest tests of strength in the world of competitive lifting. Athletes are required to perform three lifts - squat, bench press, and deadlift - with their combined weight used to determine their final score.

Despite facing stiff competition from other top lifters from around the world, Ehlert remains confident about his chances.

"I know it won't be easy," said Ehlert. "But I'm going into this with a positive mindset and plan on giving it my all."

For fans who can't make it out to Lombard for this year's event, there will likely be live streams available online so they can cheer him on from afar.

We wish Jason Ehlert all the best as he represents West Fargo and competes against some of strongest men across borders!
