Louisville-based global spirits company, Brown-Forman, has made headlines as its CEO, Lawson Whiting, was recently named to the list of World's Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere. The distinction is awarded by the New York-based company that defines and measures corporate ethical standards and promotes best practices.

Whiting has been in the main leadership role at Brown-Forman since 2018 and on the executive team since 2013. Under his leadership, the company has continued to diversify its brand portfolio through strategic acquisitions such as Gin Mare for approximately $500 million in September and Diplomático Rum in January 2023.

In addition to these accomplishments, the Brown-forman Foundation made its largest investment since formation in 2018 after announcing it would invest $50 million in West Louisville over a ten-year commitment to be given to five organizations. This move highlights their dedication towards community development.

"We are honored that our efforts have been recognized by Ethisphere," said Whiting. "We believe that ethical behavior is essential for building trust with stakeholders and creating long-term value for shareholders."

Brown-Forman's inclusion on this list acknowledges their consistent demonstration of transparency, integrity and responsible business practices across all facets of operations.

This recognition marks an important milestone for both Lawson Whiting personally as well as for Brown-Forman Company which continues to lead by example within its industry sector demonstrating how a focus on ethics can drive business success while positively impacting society at large.
