Former President Donald Trump to Surrender to Authorities and Appear in Court

Former President Donald Trump is set to surrender voluntarily at the Manhattan Criminal Courts Building on Tuesday, as he faces around 30 charges related to a $130,000 pay-out made to adult film star Stormy Daniels. His lawyers have confirmed that he will plead not guilty.

Trump is expected to arrive at New York's LaGuardia Airport on his personal plane on Monday and spend the night in Trump Tower before heading to court. He will be escorted by members of the US Secret Service throughout his journey.

Reports suggest that after appearing before Judge Juan Merchan at 2:15 pm on Tuesday afternoon, Trump expects a gag order will be put in place so as not to undercut his ability to campaign against legal corruption during the primary. However, he has indicated that it will likely only be a fleeting court appearance as he plans on returning home later that day for a prime-time address from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

No sitting or past president has ever been indicted on any criminal charges, and this case brought by Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg is only one of four investigations under way into the twice-impeached former commander-in-chief.

While Joe Biden continues with his Invest in America tour, none of his colleagues have officially commented on Trump's legal troubles or thrown their hats into the ring for Republican party's 2024 election hoping for an opportunity as more palatable alternative.

As a former president traveling with Secret Service agents from moment-to-moment, It is likely that Mr. Trump travel via motorcade once leaving Mar-A-Lago en route Palm Beach International Airport midday EST (16:00 GMT).
