Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Booed at Pro-Trump Rally in Manhattan

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene hosted a rally for former President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning in Manhattan, which was met with counter-protesters and heavy police presence. The rally was held outside the courthouse where former President Trump will be arraigned later that day, following his indictment by a Manhattan grand jury last week.

Reports from the rally site estimated that fewer than 100 Trump supporters were present at Greene's rally, while there were more anti-Trump protesters who blew whistles and booed her when she spoke. Video captured by Newsweek shows some of the attendees at the protests booing Greene, while some others can be heard yelling "liar."

The rally was coordinated in partnership with the New York Young Republican Club and marketed as a protest against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's "heinous attack" on the former president. Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made a public appearance to host this event.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams had warned about potential violence on what was expected to be a politically charged day but said that there were no known specific security threats.

Former NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik criticized Mayor Adams for his gross partisan admonishment of Trump and Greene supporters.

Following the protest, Representative Green expressed her support for Donald J. Trump and criticized Mayor Adams for attempting to "intimidate, threaten and stop" her during her public appearance in support of Donald J.Trump outside court where he will face criminal charges later today.

The heavy police presence limited access to the area around City Hall Park with security personnel pushing through crowds while ushering Representative Green away from counterprotestors after she spoke.

Several individuals showed up to express their views both supporting or opposing Former President Donald J.Trump; Ricardo Varona expressed his full support of Queens-born trump predicting his return to White House; Colton Keeng traveled from Orlando, Florida to show his solidarity with his fellow Floridian; Kofia Oliveri appeared with a Daily News front page reading “Trump Indicted” featuring his addition of a clown face over a photo of the former President.

The rally was largely peaceful but with some heated exchanges as Trump supporters and critics were separated by rows of metal barricades.
