Kari Lake, former Arizona gubernatorial candidate, has spoken out in defense of Republican Representative Liz Harris, who was ousted from the state House of Representatives on Wednesday for violating ethics rules. The GOP-led House voted by a two-thirds majority to remove freshman House member Harris after she knowingly arranged for Jacqueline Breger, an insurance agent, to falsely allege that Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs took bribes from a cartel.

Lake acknowledged that there were dishonest aspects to Harris' handling of Breger's testimony but argued against her expulsion. "While it is undeniable that there was some misrepresentation involved on Rep. Harris' part when presenting Ms. Breger's baseless allegations, I do not believe this warrants her removal from office," said Lake.

The former gubernatorial candidate went on to predict that the ousting would actually pave the way for a bright political future for Harris: "She has shown great courage and tenacity in standing up against corruption and injustice – qualities which will no doubt make her an icon."

Lake criticized the decision taken by the Arizona legislature saying they had "kicked out a duly elected member." She emphasized that inviting witnesses like Breger should be seen as part of lawmakers' responsibilities: "It is our duty as representatives of our constituents to hear various accounts and investigate all angles before reaching conclusions."

Amid speculation about whether she might run for Senate in 2024 or seek another public office position again soon, Kari Lake remained steadfast in expressing support for ousted legislator Liz Harris. However, recent polling suggests Democratic Representative Ruben Gallego stands as the favorite to take up any potential vacancy left by outgoing senatorial incumbents.

Despite controversial circumstances surrounding both their careers thus far - with scandals involving false accusations against politicians and questions over journalistic integrity - Kari Lake continues to stand firmly behind Liz Harris while also considering her own political future.
