St. Louis-based financial services firm Royal Banks of Missouri made headlines for its philanthropic efforts in 2022, donating nearly $430,000 in total cash donations throughout the year. With a revenue just short of $40 million, Royal Banks of Missouri achieved the highest cash donations as a percentage of its revenue.

The company's generosity did not go unnoticed and earned it recognition at the Corporate Philanthropy Awards 2023. "We believe strongly in giving back to our community and supporting organizations that make a difference," said John Wampler, CEO of Royal Banks of Missouri.

In addition to Royal Banks' contributions, Centene Corp., another St. Louis-based company specializing in healthcare services, donated an impressive $19.5 million locally in 2022 to various organizations such as the Missouri Botanical Garden, Washington University and The Muny (the Municipal Theatre Association).

Michael Neidorff, Chairman and CEO at Centene Corp., commented on their commitment towards making a positive impact: "As one of the largest employers based here [in St.Louis], we feel responsible for contributing meaningfully to improving our city."

Centene Corp.'s dedication was also recognized during the Corporate Philanthropy Awards ceremony with an award highlighting their altruistic work within local communities.

Schnuck Markets Inc., a popular supermarket chain headquartered in St. Louis since its founding over eight decades ago by Edwin Schnuck Sr., followed suit with generous philanthropic efforts throughout 2022 totaling $15.3 million donated locally to organizations like Operation Food Search, United Way and Urban League.

Todd Schnuck, President & CEO at Schnuck Markets Inc., shared his thoughts on these charitable endeavors: "Our family has always strived to be good neighbors within all aspects – including through investing significantly into programs that address food insecurity or offer opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds."

These remarkable philanthropic efforts by St. Louis-based companies have had a significant impact on the local community and serve as an inspiration for other businesses to follow suit, demonstrating that it is possible to both thrive financially and make meaningful contributions to society.
