Professor Adam Carrington Criticizes Biden Administration's Approach to Immigration

Professor Adam Carrington Criticizes Biden Administration's Approach to Immigration

Adam Carrington, a professor at Hills Hills College, argues that our policymakers often ignore the rule of law when it is convenient and without regard for the costs. He believes that the Biden administration has provided the latest example of this lawbreaking by not taking substantive congressional action on immigration.

Carrington states, "The Constitution makes clear that such policy is a matter for Congress and Congress alone, and the Supreme Court should reject these policies by declaring them contrary to the Constitution." He emphasizes that we must return to understanding how crucial the Rule of Law is in providing many benefits we too often take for granted. Voters should cast their ballots based on policies they truly support.

This criticism comes as The Biden administration prepares to announce plans on Thursday regarding migrant processing centers south of the U.S.-Mexico border amid an influx of illegal immigration. These centers will allow migrants to undergo screening interviews determining if they have legal claims for entry into the United States.

Located in areas where large numbers of migrants frequently pass through, these processing facilities are expected to be established in Colombia and Guatemala after Title 42 orders end next month. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has also made improvements within border facilities like adding phone booths and private spaces facilitating attorney calls and asylum interviews.

Despite efforts towards improving conditions surrounding migration processes, some concerns persist about whether funding or capacity exists adequately supporting over 10,000 border arrivals per day following Covid restrictions lifting under Title 42 on May 11th.

Additionally, new rules set forth by The Biden administration aim at making nearly all migrants crossing illegally rapidly deportable back into Mexico or their respective home countries while implementing regional processing center appointments booked online with international partners such as Canada or Spain offering alternative pathways abroad.

In response to criticisms from individuals like Prof. Carrington regarding potential constitutional infringements upon policymaking decisions concerning immigration reform measures proposed currently by the Biden Administration, neither DHS nor UK Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has provided comments.
