The Oregon Ducks softball team secured their position as third in the Pac-12 after defeating the California Golden Bears with a score of 5-3 at Levine-Fricke Field on Saturday. This victory extends the No. 13 Ducks' impressive winning streak to 12 games.

KK Humphreys and Paige Sinicki each contributed home runs for the Ducks, while Tehya Bird hit an RBI double during both second and third innings, putting Oregon on top early in the game. On the other hand, Cal (31-16-1, 7-12-1) managed to score three points in the fifth inning when Stevie Hansen issued a one-out walk followed by back-to-back doubles before being replaced by reliever Raegan Breedlove.

Morgan Scott played an integral role in maintaining Oregon's lead by delivering her sixth save with an outstanding performance of 1.1 innings of perfect relief pitching.

Head Coach Melissa Lombardi praised her players' efforts stating: "I'm incredibly proud of our team's tenacity throughout this game against such strong competitors like Cal. KK Humphreys and Paige Sinicki were especially instrumental today."

Meanwhile, Head Coach Chelsea Spencer from Cal acknowledged their opponent's skill saying: "Oregon is definitely a tough team that fought hard for every run they scored today."

Both teams are set for another showdown on Sunday at noon as they wrap up this series at Levine-Fricke Field.

Fans attending are excitedly anticipating whether or not The Ducks can continue their winning streak against The Golden Bears and further solidify their position within the Pac-12 rankings.
