US President Joe Biden Jokes About His Age and Addresses Critics at Annual Press Dinner

On Saturday, US President Joe Biden attended the White House Correspondents' Association annual dinner, where he humorously addressed his age and potential political liabilities. The president joked that media mogul Rupert Murdoch, aged 92, made him look like singer Harry Styles in comparison.

Biden also poked fun at himself by claiming to be friends with one of the United States founding fathers, James Madison. Despite being aware of critics who believe he is too old for re-election, the president announced his intentions to run again.

At the gathering attended by Washington's political and media elites, President Biden took aim at former CNN host Don Lemon. Lemon was fired earlier this week due to a series of missteps during his time as a news anchor.

The president didn't shy away from addressing Fox Corp's recent settlement with Dominion Voting Systems either. Dominion had filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News for falsely claiming that the 2020 presidential election was manipulated in favor of Biden. The case resulted in Fox paying $787.5 million to settle.

In light-hearted fashion, Biden mentioned that comedian Roy Wood Jr had jokingly offered him $10 as "hush money."

Throughout his speech at the annual press dinner, President Joe Biden demonstrated not only his sense of humor but also an ability to confront criticism head-on while confidently asserting his plans for re-election.
