In a shocking incident in Shanxi province, a man has been accused of killing the relatives of his alleged lover before using his car to mow down others on the streets. The police have arrested the suspect and are currently investigating the case.

According to witnesses at the scene, 35-year-old Liu Xiangdong entered a residence where he first stabbed two family members belonging to Ms. Zhang Wei's family, who is believed to be Liu's secret lover. Following this brutal attack, he proceeded to use his vehicle as a weapon by driving it into multiple passersby on nearby roads.

"I heard screams coming from my neighbor's house," said Wang Xiaojun, who lives near the crime scene. "When I went outside after that horrible noise had subsided slightly, I saw Liu driving wildly through our community."

The violent rampage resulted in four deaths and seven people being injured – three critically so – including both pedestrians and individuals within their vehicles.

Authorities arrived shortly after receiving emergency calls from panicked citizens witnessing these acts of violence unfold before them. They managed to arrest Liu without further incident or harm inflicted upon any more innocent bystanders.

"The suspect was taken into custody without resistance," stated Officer Li Junfeng during an official press conference held by local law enforcement agencies earlier today. "We are still trying to piece together what led him towards committing such horrifying actions against innocent victims."

Initial investigations reveal that Liu may have been involved romantically with Ms. Zhang Wei for some time without her immediate family's knowledge or approval; however, no solid evidence has yet been found confirming this theory as factually accurate beyond reasonable doubt.

Ms. Zhang herself was unharmed during this ordeal but remains deeply traumatized by these events involving her loved ones' tragic loss: "I never imagined something like this could happen... My heart breaks for my family and all those affected," she shared through tears during a brief interview with local media.

The community remains reeling from this tragedy as they struggle to come to terms with the senseless violence that has struck so close to home. Local leaders have called for increased vigilance among residents, urging them not only to report suspicious activity but also support one another emotionally in such trying times.

"We must stand strong against this kind of evil," said Shanxi province Mayor Huang Zhenyu at an impromptu gathering organized by grieving locals seeking solace together. "We will work tirelessly alongside our police force to ensure justice is served and measures are taken towards preventing any future incidents like these from ever unfolding again within our peaceful communities."

As investigations continue, Liu Xiangdong faces multiple charges including first-degree murder and attempted murder, which could result in severe penalties if found guilty by the courts once his trial commences later this year or early next year.
