Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Democratic son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert F., and nephew of the late former President John F., has announced his run for the White House in 2024, challenging incumbent President Joe Biden in the race.

Kennedy's bid comes a month after launching a fundraising campaign on social media to help him decide whether to run for president or not. He is known as a longtime critic of Dr. Anthony Fauci's push for Americans to get vaccinated against Covid-19 despite having little long-term studies done.

The candidate's family members have denounced his views on vaccination, arguing that he is "part of a misinformation campaign that’s having heartbreaking – and deadly – consequences."

An environmental lawyer and bestselling author by profession, Kennedy has made headlines through his involvement in an anti-vaccine movement over recent years.

Last month, he filed suits against federal officials including President Biden himself; accusing them of encouraging platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Google to censor constitutionally protected speech related to Covid-19 information.

In addition to suing key government agencies such as Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI)and Centers for Disease Control Prevention(CDC); Kennedy alleges they purposely suppressed facts concerning COVID-19 cases' origins along with other sensitive topics relating back during election year 2020 involving Hunter Biden`s laptop scandal .

These actions have drawn significant attention from Republican lawmakers who are also critical about alleged censorship practices within social media platforms around spreading misinformation content online
